Because one of their stories was that of Noah, the Rhema Theatre Company were asked to perform at one of the local schools.  Three members from Rhema brought their schools’ production to Magor VAP School.  Incredible Tales! from the Miracle Book comprised three stories from the Bible.  The theme running through all the stories was “new starts” and God’s rescue plans.

First there was Noah and the flood.  God rescued His faithful followers by telling Noah to build an ark and take on board the animals to save them from the flood.  Having made a new start, God promised that He would never flood the earth again, and gave the rainbow as a visual reminder of that promise.

Then the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, three of God’s faithful men whom God saved when they were thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to worship the power-seeking King Nebuchadnezzar.  That story was also a lesson in standing up for what you believe in.

Lastly, Pontius Pilate and the Easter Story - God saving mankind through Jesus.

The actors engaged really well with their young audiences, encouraging much audience participation from both infants and juniors.  There was never a shortage of hands going up whenever they asked for volunteers!  Two performances of the vibrant, action-packed performance enabled the entire school to enjoy and learn more about those stories.

If you would like to learn more, the stories can be read in the Bible as follows:

· Noah - Genesis chapter 6, verse 9 to chapter 9 verse 17

· Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego - Daniel chapter 3

· Pontius Pilate and the Easter Story - Mark chapters 15 & 16
